Myatt’s Fields Park Fair

Myatt’s Fields Park
Sat June 23, 2 –6pm
Free

Myatt’s Fields Park, Camberwell’s hidden gem is a Victorian park between Knatchbull and Cormont Roads. In 1979, the park which was then part of the Minet Estate became a Conservation Area, due to the efforts of local residents, and with the support of the Minet family. The Minet Family were Huguenots who fled to England from France in the late 1600s, to escape religious persecution.
The Fair will celebrate the history of the park as well as featuring the contemporary contribution of African francophone communities and all francophone communities to the area. A programme of arts and culture with musicians, chansons, artisan stalls, French cricket, petanque demonstrations, storytelling, poetry readings, barbeque, food and wine tasting.
The Fair is a collaboration between Myatt's Fields Park Project Group (MFPPG) and Camberwell Arts.

Special thanks to Claudine Bongo from SAVO and Aziza Khamlichi from Cambridge House for making this happen and organising the African francophone programming
