The full English breakfast is given a Citizenship Test as Mem Morrison returns to his roots to explore the cultural connotations of the traditional greasy spoon café.

As part of the Camberwell Arts Festival 2007, Leftovers moves Morrison's culinary and cultural concerns out onto the High Street to un-cover an English café culture that has been assimilated and imperceptibly changed by generations of Turkish Cypriot families.

Leftovers is a performance and sound installation with Andy Pink based on interviews with Turkish Cypriot café owners commissioned by Kahve Society in association with Artsadmin, and supported by Awards For All.

Leftovers is a development of Mem’s earlier piece FUEL, created for Home, Camberwell, 2004. For FUEL, Mem invited his family to help him create a performance in a domestic kitchen involving traditional Turkish Cypriot cooking and hospitality.
The Leftovers café project has been developed alongside a theatre show Leftovers commissioned by Chelsea Theatre SACRED and Nottingham NOW. Leftovers is showing at Theatre Workshop as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe from August 20 to 25. www.edfringe.com
