Open Studios June 23 - 24

Open Studio Walk
Starting at the Sun and Doves, Coldharbour Lane, SE5

June 23  - 24 Saturday - Sunday, 2 – 5pm
Free

Camberwell artists create studios in extraordinary places: from garrets to garden sheds, Victorian carriage works to disused swimming baths. This walk will visit the major studio collectives, linking contemporary artists with their predecessors. Many local artists have documented the streets, gardens and daily life of Camberwell – from the Old Cambians/South London Group (founded 1920) to the digital photographers of the online Flickr group. Walking along footpaths and through parks between today’s studios, we will also track down some of the buildings – both grand and domestic – celebrated in paintings and prints in the Southwark Art Collection.
