THe 2018 Festival takes the theme of All's Well from the camberwell Coat of Arms
From 16th – 24th June, Camberwell will become a crucible of scientific and artistic experimentation and collaboration. We are calling out to artists of all kinds (dancers, musicians, poets and players, designers, makers, upcyclers), with great opportunities to get involved:
Made in Camberwell Market
Fringe Events and venues
Not for Sale boards and Alley Gallery
Art on the Green Commission
(KEEP SCROLLING DOWN)
Open studios is a key part of the annual festival and this year's dates for artists' open studios are 16-17 June 2018. If you would like to take part, please click the button below.
Each year we have an arts market which features hand made arts and crafts by local artists and makers. This year we will be on Camberwell Green on Saturday 23 June.
If you would like to take part for summer 2018, please follow the link that says 'apply to sell at the arts market' below.
The deadline for market applications is Sunday 11 March 2018
Beside the arts market, and drawing even more people to Camberwell Green on Saturday 23 June, we will offer creative activities that you can drop in and out of, as your time and desires dictate. We are inviting dog owners to let their imaginations go wild in a 'doggy dress up' parade on the Green. And for those with a 'bake-off' talent we will run our 'Artist-inspired cake competition'. Last year's winner was a lemon drizzle cake in the style of Matisse cut out pictures. If you have a great low cost, low tech, creative activity allowing the public to drop in and take part, let us know all about it by 18 March by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Stay tuned for more info about how to get involved!
We are inviting applications for the festival fringe
Sign up now to exhibit, perform, workshop or whatever your Event demands, and be part of the Camberwell Arts Festival Fringe. You can be included in our listings in the Festival brochure if you have something that you are already planning between 16-24 June 2018. Or if you are a venue looking for an artist or an artist looking for a venue, we can help make that happen.
Camberwell Arts Festival Fringe is an open access arts festival which means that anyone who can find a venue can put on an exhibition or event during the festival, there is no selection process and we do not produce or fund any of the fringe activities. What we do is list your event for free in our brochure and with a reach of 20,000 reading the brochure and 15,000 people on social media, that's a perfect opportunity to showcase your art or venue for free.
To sign up and get listed click on the button called Fringe Festival below. It is the same application form whether you are already a matched venue and artist or not (and we'd like to help if you're not matched). The deadline for applying is Sunday 18 March.
call out to artists
Our call out to artists for this year's festival is 3-fold inviting you to take up one or more of these opportunities:
- To enter your artwork (in print out form) for the Alley Gallery - our Al Fresco gallery along the railings of Daneville Road.
- To have your artwork reproduced on a Not for Sale board sponsored by Hunters Estate Agent and displayed in Camberwell's residential areas.
- To submit a proposal for a public art commission on Camberwell Green.
Deadlines are in March - so don't delay.
would you like to advertise in our festival brochure?
We will be producing a comprehensive brochure of all events and activities taking place within the Camberwell Arts Festival week 16 - 24 June 2018, which is a high quality, full colour programme. With a print run of 8,000 and an estimated readership of three times that number, you can be sure that your advertisement will reach a significant section of Camberwell residents. And not just for the Festival week but for at least 4 weeks in advance the brochure will be available at local businesses and libraries so that visitors can plan their week and book where relevant. Advertisements in the A5 sized brochure start at £50 and you can do it online by clicking on the button below. The deadline for
